A quick, albeit crude, way to capture text using your phone’s camera.
I’ve put up this mini app for the sole purpose of quickly capturing text on books I read on the go. I prefer reading hardcopies rather than ebooks, so whenever I come across quote worthy text, I always take a picture of it and post it to my Twitter feed by typing it manually. This went on for some time and thought it was fine, but then I realized I haven’t been keeping my Twitter up-to-date with all the pictures I have taken. Now my phone is swamped with these pictures. By minimizing the manual part of this process, I may actually get back to my perceived main goal of tweeting quotes!
Note: By crude, I mean that it may or may not work, and will heat up the phone (probably good if your hands are feeling cold) when you try with whole pages or really lots of text.
